1. Definitions

Company means Buy A Ticket (Pty) Ltd, Reg. No. 2026/410853/07, an innovative South African digital services company based in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal.

Platform means the website buyaticket.co.za and associated single-access digital services ecosystem.

Store Credit Wallet is the native pre-paid store credit facility built into the platform. It serves as a unified vault for digital essentials and holds pre-paid store value. It is not a bank account, e-wallet, savings product, or investment instrument, and balances do not accrue interest. Holding an active Wallet unlocks exclusive consumer privileges, including store user discounts, reduced processing margins, and priority access to specialized loyalty campaigns.

Credit (C) is the unit of value within the Store Credit Wallet. C1 (One Credit) = R1 (One South African Rand). This conversion rate is fixed and unalterable.

Customer ID is a unique 6-character random alphanumeric code (e.g., H3K9M2) assigned to each registered Customer, serving as your primary secure login credential.

Credit Balance is the total number of Credits held in a Customer's Store Credit Wallet, capped at a maximum of C4000 at any time.

Deposit Amount is the total Rand amount a user submits for payment via the payment gateway to purchase Credits.

Deposit Fee is 3.0% of the Deposit Amount, covering payment gateway, administrative, and network processing costs.

Credited Credits are the Credits added to your Wallet after the Deposit Fee is deducted: Credited Credits = (Deposit Amount × 0.97) × (C1/R1).

Refund Fee is R5 or 2% of the total refund value (whichever is greater) for processed refund requests of unused Credits.

Voucher means a digital gift code redeemable at premium commercial brands, eateries, or entertainment platforms.

Airtime & Data means prepaid mobile connectivity utility tokens for South African mobile networks (Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, Telkom).

Travel Tickets refers to Intercity Bus Tickets and Flight Bookings handled via the integrated platform booking engine.

Customer / You means any individual consumer, family household administrator, or corporate business user registering for a Store Credit Wallet or using the platform.

CPA means the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. POPIA means the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. FICA means the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001.

Dashboard is the secure, centralized web interface where Customers view their Credit Balance, transaction records, and Customer ID.

2. Products & Multi-Tier Payment Ecosystem

The platform consolidates everyday connectivity, retail incentives, and transit solutions. All catalog values are displayed in Rands (R), but transactions deduct the equivalent value in Credits (C1 = R1) when using the wallet.

  • Airtime & Data Top-ups (Store Credit Wallet only): Automated 24/7 access to instant prepaid connectivity bundles for Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, and Telkom. Price range R5–R500 (C5–C500). Automatically loaded directly to the designated mobile device.
  • Premium Gift Vouchers (Store Credit Wallet only): Digital codes for South Africa's top commercial brands, eateries, and entertainment platforms (including Checkers, Shoprite, Woolworths, Pick n Pay, UberEats, and more). Price range R50–R500 (C50–C500). Perfect for gifting or household utility management.
  • Intercity Bus Tickets (wallet or card checkout — coming soon): Direct comparison of intercity travel routes and instant reservations for long-distance regional bus transit.
  • Flight Booking Engine (wallet or card checkout — coming soon): Comparison and secure booking of dynamic rates for domestic and international flights via integrated aviation partner platforms.

3. The Store Credit Wallet Payment Model

In order to reduce consumer friction and eliminate repetitive payment gateway costs on individual micro-purchases, the platform implements a specialized payment tier model:

  • Wallet-Mandatory Tier: Purchases of Airtime & Data Top-ups and Premium Gift Vouchers are strictly Store Credit Wallet Only. There is no option to check out directly via debit/credit card for these items.
  • Flexible Checkout Tier: Future transit services (Intercity Bus Tickets and Flight Bookings) support either Wallet or Card Checkout at the user's discretion.

To utilize the platform's core connectivity and voucher catalog, you must register a profile, buy Credits via a credit/debit card deposit (incurring a one-time 3.0% processing fee), and complete transactions using your Credit Balance.

Regulatory Compliance Notice: The Store Credit Wallet functions strictly as a pre-funded store credit facility for utility procurement and travel planning within this platform ecosystem. It is not a deposit-taking bank account, payment service, or e-wallet under the National Payment System Act, and does not require a license from the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). Balance values are non-transferable between users and do not accrue interest.

4. Eligibility and Account Management

4.1 Registration. Wallet registration is open to any individual, household representative, or corporate entity possessing a valid identity number or passport, active mobile number, and valid email address. Corporate profiles may be used for bulk workforce provisioning paths or employee incentive structures.

4.2 Customer ID Security. Upon successful verification, you receive a randomized 6-character alphanumeric Customer ID. This ID is your primary secure entry credential. The platform features a "Copy Customer ID" button to ensure accurate entry and avoid manual logging risks. The Company will never solicit your Customer ID through unprompted calls, SMS, or emails.

4.3 Account Identity Verification. The Company reserves the right to conduct background verification to remain compliant with FICA and anti-money laundering protocols, particularly when evaluating out-of-ecosystem cash-back or refund applications.

5. Store Credit Wallet Limits

The structural operating limits of the platform vault are established as follows:

ParameterStructural limitCommercial rationale
Maximum single depositR4,123.71Matches the exact ceiling to acquire C4000 after the 3.0% fee
Maximum credit balanceC4000 (R4,000)Continuous upper storage limit for platform utility budgeting
Minimum refund thresholdC50 (R50)Required minimum to execute outward bank transfers
Minimum purchase valueC5 (R5)Aligns directly with the baseline airtime product minimum
Maximum refund frequency2× per calendar monthEnforces platform use as a consumption marketplace

Precise conversion scale (target credits → Rand deposit required → 3.0% fee component → net value):

Target creditsDeposit requiredFeeNet value
C4000 (wallet cap)R4,123.71R123.71R4,000.00
C2500R2,577.32R77.32R2,500.00
C1000R1,030.93R30.93R1,000.00
C500R515.46R15.46R500.00
C200R206.19R6.19R200.00

C50 (refund min)R51.55R1.55R50.00
C5 (purchase min)R5.15R0.15R5.00

To achieve or top up to a specific balance, divide your target credits by 0.97 to establish the needed deposit amount. If a deposit would cause your cumulative balance to exceed C4000, the transaction will be rejected automatically. You may not create multiple Store Credit Wallets to bypass these structural parameters.

6. Account Funding & Service Execution

6.1 Instant Funding via Card. Deposits are made using verified Visa or Mastercard credit/debit cards through our secure integrated payment gateway. Manual or electronic bank transfers (EFT) are not supported for wallet funding.

6.2 Service Delivery Loops.

  • Airtime & Data: Dispatched via direct automated loading within 60 seconds of deduction confirmation. Users are solely responsible for ensuring destination numbers are accurate before clicking confirm.
  • Premium Gift Vouchers: Dispatched immediately to your verified profile email address within 60 seconds.
  • Travel Bookings: Delivered as digital booking tokens or live booking confirmations directly to your mobile device or app profile upon successful checkout.

7. Data Minimization & Transaction Transparency

7.1 90-Day Statement Window. Your customer dashboard logs deposits, fee allocations, point-of-sale utility deductions, and approved refund payouts.

7.2 Automatic Purge Rule. In strict compliance with POPIA data minimization principles, transaction visibility is restricted to a rolling 90-day period. At day 91, historical logs are scrubbed permanently from all live databases. To maintain personal records, users must download their reports as a CSV statement via the dashboard "Export" tool before this automatic deletion takes place.

8. Outward Refunds (Cash Reversal of Unspent Credits)

8.1 Limitation of Scope. Refunds are strictly restricted to unspent, unused Credits and will only be deposited into a verified South African bank account held in the primary customer's name. Third-party pay-outs or wallet-to-wallet transfers are prohibited to prevent platform exploitation.

8.2 Processing Frequency and Costs. A customer may execute a maximum of 2 successful refund payouts per calendar month. Each reversal carries an administrative processing fee of R5 or 2% of the converted Rand value, whichever is greater.

9. Credit Validity (36-Month Lifecycle)

9.1 CPA Alignment. In accordance with South African trade laws, purchased store credits possess a fixed operational lifecycle of thirty-six (36) months from the day the initial funding deposit was logged.

9.2 Expiry Notification Routine. The platform system tracks balances by deposit batch and triggers multi-channel alerts prior to credit expiration. Automated notices are sent via email at 60 and 30 days remaining, alongside a synchronized SMS text alert at day 30. A final termination alert is delivered 7 days prior to deletion, after which unused credits are permanently forfeited.

10. Consumer Reversal & Product Refunds

Due to the digital nature of instant airtime top-ups, data provisioning, and gift voucher codes, transactions are non-reversible once successfully delivered. If system failures prevent successful delivery, or if a generated gift voucher is verified as technically invalid, a full restoration will be credited back to your account balance within 14 business days. Product error claims must be logged via support@buyaticket.co.za within 7 days of the transaction date.

11. Financial Fees Summary

Wallet funding deposit fee3.0% of total Rand value submitted per transaction
Refund processing fee (unused credits)R5 or 2% of total value, whichever is greater
Ecosystem purchase feeR0 (point-of-sale item purchases are entirely free of transaction charges)
Manual identity validation surchargeR25 (applied if automated FICA/ID verification fails twice consecutively)
Point-of-sale correction feeR10 (applied to cover provider costs if a customer inputs an incorrect number or product and support executes a manual recovery)

12. Prohibited Platform Exploitation

Users are prohibited from using platform balances to facilitate illicit personal lending, unauthorized peer-to-peer transfers, or structuring multiple accounts to evade safety ceilings. Any user found engineering artificial chargebacks or exploiting payment gateways will have their account immediately suspended, their balances frozen, and a report filed with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) and the South African Police Service (SAPS).

13. Account Termination

13.1 Voluntary Profile Deletion. You may request the voluntary closure of your unified vault at any time by clearing your balance through ecosystem purchases or submitting a final refund application (subject to standard refund verifications and fees).

13.2 Involuntary Profile Suspension. The Company maintains the right to instantly terminate or lock access profiles without notice if malicious platform manipulation, security bypass attempts, or illegal activities are discovered or ordered by legal authorities.

14. Limitation of Liability

The total aggregate liability of Buy A Ticket (Pty) Ltd for any technical disruptions, system delays, or loss of balance access is strictly capped at the total Rand value of the unspent Credit Balance or the specific digital order under dispute (calculated at the fixed rate of C1 = R1). The Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from user credential leaks, third-party network service blackouts, or invalid details entered by the consumer.

16. Consumer Acknowledgment & Compliance

  3. You agree to a 3.0% deduction applies to all wallet funding transactions, and that cash-out reversals are strictly capped at a maximum of 2 requests per calendar month.
